My name is Max, and I am the Chief Creator behind MAX'IS Creations. As a second-grader, I had the ingenious idea to put a basketball hoop on a mug for tossing marshmallows into hot cocoa during an art class assignment. This quirky concept would become the foundation for our brand's flagship product, The Mug with a Hoop.
My parents recognized the potential in my idea and helped me pitch it at a product innovation contest held at Fenway Park. To our delight, the mug was named a finalist and won the community vote, paving the way for us to find a manufacturing partner and bring it into production.
What makes our products truly unique is the personal story behind them. You see, I happen to have dyslexia, a language-based learning difference that is often linked to heightened creativity. While dyslexia can present challenges in a traditional academic setting, it has also been a gift, inspiring me to think outside the box and come up with these fanciful sports-themed mugs.
Through our creations, I am proud to raise awareness about the talent and ingenuity of the 1 in 5 kids in the U.S. who, like me, learn and think differently. Our mugs are not just functional; they are a celebration of the unique perspectives that dyslexia can foster.
